Juvéderm Vollure®
Juvéderm Vollure is a dermal filler used to help correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds that run from the sides of the nose to the side of the mouth. This durable filler has the ability to lasting up to 18 months when performed by Ricardo Mejia, MD or an experienced injector.
What is Juvéderm Vollure?
Juvéderm Vollure is the newest addition to the Juvéderm collection. Vollure is made from the same trusted ingredients as other Juvéderm fillers; however, it uses Vycross® technology which allows it to last up to 18 months rather than just 12. The FDA has approved this injectable for the improvement of facial lines and wrinkles such as the nasolabial folds but has yet to be indicated for anything else.
What Does Juvéderm Vollure Treat?
Juvéderm Vollure is used to treat areas of the face that need volume with a bit more structure. The consistency of Vollure allows it to be more structured and allows Ricardo Mejia, MD to provide greater correction to areas where volume and shape are lacking. Vollure is most commonly used for areas such as the nasolabial folds that are somewhat deeper and need a thicker filler to soften the severity of the fold.
What Should I Expect from Treatment?
To begin your appointment, we will apply a topical numbing cream for 15 to 20 minutes prior to the injections in order for it to have time to take effect. On average, treatment takes approximately 15 to 30 minutes to complete. The injections use very small needles and are virtually painless due to the numbing cream and Ricardo Mejia, MD’s careful injection technique. Since Juvéderm Vollure is an injectable cosmetic and also non-surgical, most patients have minimal downtime and can go about their day soon after. Most side effects are mild and last less than a few days and including redness, sensitivity, or possibly minor swelling at the site of the injection.
