What is Dysport?
Dysport is an injectable cosmetic that uses a botulinum toxin to block nerve signals that cause repetitive movement in the brow and forehead. Dysport is both measured and concentrated differently than other botulism toxin injectables and cannot be directly compared to other brands such as Botox®. Dysport injections can temporarily improve lines and wrinkles between the brows and the horizontal lines across the forehead.
What Does Dysport Treat?
Dysport is intended for the temporary improvement of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows and across the forehead. Dysport is comprised of smaller molecules than other injectables, which allows it to take effect faster and slightly diffuse for a more natural look. With a softened brow and forehead, patients can expect to see a smoother and more relaxed appearance.
What Should I Expect from Treatment?
On the day of your appointment at Jupiter Dermatology & Hair Restoration, you will be able to discuss your aesthetic concerns and goals with one of our practitioners before your treatment. Once you’re ready, the injection sites will be marked and injected with the amount of Dysport recommended by Ricardo Mejia, MD or one of our licensed physician assistants. Once complete, the treated areas may have a bump and be somewhat red. This typically fades within a couple of hours of treatment. Due to the smaller molecule size, Dysport will begin to take effect within just a few days, and you can expect it last a minimum of three months.
