Sculptra Uplifting Event At Our Office

Sculptra-replace-collagen (4)

We had a great turnout at our Sculptra “Uplifting” event at our office recently.  A Sculptra representative educated some of our patients of how Sculptra reduces fine lines and wrinkles.

Sculptra Aesthetic is a volumizing filler that gives you subtle results.  It will replace lost collagen as well as stimulate your own production of collagen. Sulptra will give you a more natural-looking appearance. A treatment of Sculptra Aesthetic is an average of three injection sessions over a few months, and can last more than two years.

Sculptra Aesthetic is a new type of facial injectable made from poly-L-lactic acid, which helps to replace lost collagen. It helps correct shallow to deep facial wrinkles, and folds, that appear with aging due to the loss of our bone structure, fat and muscle. The main ingredient is a biocompatible, biodegradable synthetic material that has been used by physicians for decades.

We are offering a free  filler or dysport when you purchase Sculptra. Call our office to schedule your appointment! 561-748-0510 or use our contact form and someone in our office will get back to you within one business day.

Here is a short video by Dr. Miguel Benevente, head of Medical Science Academy during the event.

Itchy Skin – Causes And Treatments On Sun Sentinel Live Health Chat

Itchy Skin was the topic of a live health chat Dr. Mejia participated in today with Dr. Marta Rendon on the Sun Sentinel Health Chat . It was simultaneously in all the Tribune Co. papers:  The Sun-Sentinel, LA Times, Chicago Tribune, Orlando Sentinel, Baltimore Sun, Hartford Courant.

Some definitions of the different types of skin conditions and diseases for itchy skin are:

Psoriasis (sore-EYE-ah-sis) is a chronic (long-lasting) disease. It develops when a person’s immune system sends faulty signals that tell skin cells to grow too quickly. New skin cells form in days rather than weeks. The body does not shed these excess skin cells. The skin cells pile up on the surface of the skin, causing patches of psoriasis to appear.
