This multi-use product line corrects fine to moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds of all types, from the fine lines around the lips to deep nasolabial folds.
What is Restylane?
Restylane is a gel form of hyaluronic acid that when injected into the skin it can last up to twice as long as collagen, and in many cases even longer. In general, treatments only need to be done twice a year to maintain. Restylane is injected into the dermis in small amounts with a very fine needle. The result is immediate, producing a long-lasting, natural enhancement. Smoothing out folds and wrinkles by injecting volume can make the face look several years younger. With Restylane, you can enjoy facial rejuvenation without surgery. Restylane Refyne® and Restylane Defyne® use unique XpresHAn Technology™ to give you just the right amount of lift and flexibility to look natural with a wide range of facial expressions.
What Does Restylane Treat?
A highly versatile filler, Restylane is typically used to increase fullness in the lips, define the lip line, fill scars, and plump up facial areas that have lost their youthful appearance. One very common instance of “facial deflation” is the area under the eyes that becomes hollow, creating a worn-out, tired look. Restylane can also be used in deeper facial lines and folds. Ricardo Mejia, MD uses Restylane Refyne for mid-to-deep injections for facial correction of mild to moderate facial wrinkles and folds, whereas Restylane Defyne is used for moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds.
What Should I Expect from Treatment?
Treatment with Restylane may take 15-30 minutes. However, depending on the correction you wish to see, the length of time may differ. Most people find the injections relatively painless since it contains lidocaine, a local anesthetic. To minimize any pain, the physicians at Jupiter Dermatology & Hair Restoration may also utilize a topical anesthetic to numb the skin. When enhancing the lips, a local anesthetic injection is often given, as this area is the most sensitive. Immediately after the treatment, you can expect slight redness and swelling in the treated area. This is a normal result of the injection. The discomfort is temporary and generally disappears within a few days
