For many women and even some men, dermal fillers have become an integral part of their skin care regimen. These popular and exciting products can smooth wrinkles, plump lips, and restore more youthful contours to the face – all without surgery or downtime. Dr. Mejia and the physicians at Jupiter Dermatology and Hair Restoration, provides a range of safe, reputable injectable tissue fillers to meet your anti-aging needs.
HA (hyaluronic acid) is contained in everyone’s skin, but age, sunlight and other factors can reduce the amount of HA in your skin. This lack of HA causes your skin to lose structure and volume, which then creates wrinkles and folds. Dermal fillers such as Juvéderm XC, Restylane and Perlane are safe and effective ways to replace the HA in your skin, thus bringing back its volume.
Your Dermal Filler Options
For many people, plastic surgery is too drastic a step for their early signs of aging. If you find yourself looking in the mirror and thinking you could use a little help to look younger and more refreshed, dermal fillers may be just the “pick-me-up” you are looking for. These injectable fillers also can be used to compliment results of surgical procedures, such as eyelid surgery. Dermal fillers are ideal for under-eye hollows, crow’s feet, fine lines around the lips, and those stubborn “etched” lines on the surface of the skin.
Providers at Jupiter Dermatology & Hair Restoration use non-animal derived dermal fillers, which require no allergy testing and have been used effectively for hundreds of thousands of patients nationwide. Our physicians use dermal fillers to help their patients achieve results that are both immediate and long lasting, yet natural looking.
What should patients do prior to treatment?
- Wash your face thoroughly, removing lipstick and face creams.
- Don’t take aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil), vitamin E, fish oil and similar medications for 1 to 2 weeks before your treatment to reduce the risk of bruising and swelling.
- Use Arnica montana (an herbal medicine) the morning of your treatment or immediately after to help reduce bruising and swelling (you can buy a physician-strength version at our office).
- Tell us before your treatment if you have a history of herpes (cold sores) in this area so we can prescribe a medication that will help prevent an outbreak
